Fun on a Saturday

Doesn't this look like a picture out of a magazine??? My baby is a doll - what more can I say?
I didn't get 1 shot of Jaylee smiling - what in the Dizzle??? (as Dave would say)

Chlo has the most AMAZING eyes!
Isn't she beautiful?!
Can you see the deer??

Today was sort of a "lay low" day for us. I decided to spend the day crafting while Dave spent time with his brother "teching" and the girls played outside. It was great! I've been looking for pettiskirts for the girls (which I haven't found at an acceptable price yet) so while I'm waiting for that magical day I decided to try my hand at making full sized tu tu's. They turned out ADORABLE! (if I must say so myself) :) I didn't have enough to make one for Carlee - so that is yet to come. I had a blast taking pictures and editing them on a cool website my sister found. After Dave's brother headed home we decided to go on a family bike ride to the park. It was so fun! On our way home we ran into a little surprise - a deer was right on our path. I didn't want Carlee too close - but you can still see the deer pretty well behind her. What a fun day - I'm ready to curl up to a good movie and relax!

Copper mine

Grandma and Grandpa with the girls in front of an old mining car - I'm sure miners would have been beyond thrilled to find 3 such beautiful treasures :)
Jaylee loved all the rocks and kept trying to eat them. In the background of this picture you can see one of the working trucks - they are said to carry over 20 tons of dirt and are the size of a house!

This is one tire from the large, dirt moving trucks. They're said to weigh over 10,000 pounds.
This was Chlo's favorite part - sitting in the bucket. What a nut!
The girls had a blast playing on all the mining cars.
Grandpa is so great with my kids - they're truly lucky to have him.
Chlo loved looking at the mine this way. She said she looked at the sky but didn't see any birds :)
There was a book in the visiters center for people to sign in - Carlee and Chlo each took a turn filling out their information.

Today we had a fantastic adventure day with Grandma, Grandpa and Heather. We had a blast! We headed up to the Kennecott Copper mine to check things out. It was amazing! The girls LOVED looking at the mine and at all the MASSIVE trucks moving the dirt. Carlee of coarse had to go potty and was freaked out by the fact that all they had were porta-potties - yes quite traumatic :) It was awesome to spend a little more time with my parents and sister too. Thanks for the great day!

A day of remembering

The main page on the CNN website. So sad!
Farrah Fawcett in her Angel days.

Jaylee making faces at the park.

Carlee being her usual adorable self :)
Chlo striking a pose for the camera.
Today has been so full of ups and downs it's crazy! It started with a fiascal with Chlo's diabetic supplies - then a fantastic trip to the park with the girls for lunch - a temple trip and chatting with my family. While chatting with Justin and Heather I got the news that Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett had died... I know that seems strange to most that I would even care... I have been a devoted Michael fan for years (ask Dave... :)) I am so sad to hear of his passing and my prayers are with his family. As for Farrah, what can I say - I'm a true angels fan and her passing will be remembered as well. Farewell my talented friends - you will be missed.

Dancing in the rain

Isn't this picture AMAZING??? Chlo looks like a professional dancer - LOVE IT! :)

It has been beyond fantastic the past few weeks with all the rain. It's honestly a little piece of heaven for me. I was telling Dave today the 2 things that can always make me smile is a good rain storm and Christmas music :) (I know, I'm strange) Anyway, the girls had a blast dancing in the rain today - even Jaylee. They had their cute friend Reagan over to enjoy it with them. What a fun group of friends.

Strawberry days

Jaylee actually freaked out a bit on the carousel - she kept grabbing onto me wanting off - she'd calm back down though and watch her sisters.
Chlo and Carlee LOVE the carousel!
Jaylee LOVED the homeade ice cream. Needless to say, she was an absolute mess when we left. :)
Crystal showed us how the bull was done for sure!

Yesterday my buddy Crystal called and asked if I wanted to bring my kids and go to strawberry days with her and her kids. We decided to venture out (Jaylee and I haven't been feeling so hot this week) It was so nice to get out and Crystal and I haven't hung out for way too long. We had a blast! We got to ride the carousel and have homeade icecream and of coarse - strawberries and cream. Crazy Crystal even braved the mechanical bull! Yes, I know she's nuts - but she did a great job! It was a perfect day too because there was no rain and it was 80 degrees outside! (I have to admit I am partial to the rain, but it was nice to see the sushine). Thanks so much for the fun day Crystal!

After the temple openhouse we had a few pictures taken. This was taken seconds before the rain started.

This last week has been SO crazy but SO fun at the same time. Seeing as my sister Julie lives in TX it's usually around 6 months or so between visits. Needless to say we scheduled our whole week to be able to spend time with Julie and her cute little Bailey. Monday we decided to work on Quiet books mom was kind enough to get for us. After coloring one section Heather decided she was "colored out". It was fun to sit and talk about our lives and even Justin and his love life. Brian and Nate came up so it was truly a family reunion. On Tuesday we went and did Jaylee's birthday shopping - which I put in a precious post. That night we had Carlee's dress rehersal for her dance so we took off early. Wednesday we went to the Thanksgiving Point Gardens. After going to the gardens countless times I've never been there in the rain. We were able to experience that this time. It was BEAUTIFUL! Heather and I LOVE the thunder so it was an added bonus that we got both rain and thunder. The girls had a great time. We headed home afterwards to get Carlee ready for her recidal. The family came to that as well and we LOVED having them there. Thursday we had lunch here with the fam, including Justin, which was an added bonus! We got tickets to go to the Oquirrh Mountain temple openhouse. It was such an amazing temple. The girls always love the opportunity to go inside and Carlee actually decided she liked the whole thing this time. Chlo liked the baptisimal font. They had a little presentation in the sealing room where the people thought Justin and I were married. Quite silly :) Once we left the temple it was full on DOWN POUR!!! It SOAKED us right through. The temple had arranged escourts with umbrellas to take us to our cars. It was so nice! We were still soaked through. The girls and I stopped at Hobby lobby on our way home since we were right there and I need to collect some things for an activity I'm doing for the older primary girls in our ward. Then we went home and packed for the evening. We spent the night with Jackmans which was a total party. The boys watched the NBA finals game which was super intese and fun to watch since I haven't seen any sporting event for months. I was able to finish a fleece blanket for Jaylee and of coarse chat it up with my fam. The girls decided not to go to bed until around midnight which of coarse made for a long morning. Friday morning was Jaylee's birthday which was all explained in the post below. It was a great day! Saturday morning we woke up early and re-packed to head up to Park City to be with the Nelson family. Dave's sisters Shannon won a weekend in a home up there. Grandma Nelson and Aunt Chanel were AWESOME and took Chlo and Carlee for us so Dave and I could do some shopping. How great is that?!?! We were able to find some fun things and it was great to spend time together. We went to historical Park City Mainstreet for dinner and loved it. Carlee confused the waiter by asking for a crabby patty for dinner (Sponge bob's way of saying hamburger) She then changed her mind and ordered Mac and cheese (very good choice - the mac and cheese was awesome!) We headed back to the house to chill and chat. The highlight for me was the air hockey table in the basement. I grew up playing air hockey at my grandparents house and have actually gotten pretty good. I DOMINATED!!! I even shut out 2 people (one of which was my little nephew - so that shouldn't count) I can't wait to get our basement done so we can get a table too. Dave's highlight was the sauna. Dave, his brother Dan and I spent a half hour in the sauna. We laughed and talked and sweat like crazy - it was fantastic. Then we spent the balance of the evening trying to get the kids to go to sleep. They decided to have a "cousin sleepover" which meant lots of Sponge Bob and Scooby doo. The kids LOVED being with their cousins. It was a rough night though - we didn't get much sleep if any. It was nice to come home today and catch up a little with a 3 hour nap! WAHOO. It has been so wonderful spending quality time with both families this week. What a treat. Thanks to everyone for making this week so fantastic! Love you all!!! XOXO
