Jackson Hole

The one thing I really wanted to do while on our little vacation was to get these pictures done. I think they turned out pretty good. Jaylee was a hit in her little fish net stockings :)

The girls had tons of fun dressing up and wearing the fancy dresses.

The last night we were there somehow all three brothers ended up on the same couch... huh, bonding time I guess :) We had a blast talking to Bryce and Marsha about how they met and talking about the "old times" What a fun night!

We had a FANTASTIC rain storm the last night we were there as well. The water came down in buckets! Dave loved how it looked like a river going down the street. It smelled amazing outside and add the thunder to the rain - couldn't have been a more perfect evening!

Marsha thought this was hillarious. Dave doesn't golf much but enjoys it when he can. From what I understand he lost several balls. This is just one he lost in the little stream - for the life of him he couldn't find it in the inch deep water. Poor dave...

Carlee and Paige really had a great time together. It was fun to see Carlee branch out on her own a bit. The girls were cute!

Dan, Chanel, Bryce and Marsha packed up their Harley's for the vacation. I was lucky enough to get a shot of Dan and Chanel before they took a quick ride. Don't you just LOVE Chanel's bike???

These are the two cabins we were able to enjoy in the Teaton Springs Lodge. It was a beautiful place - minus the mice (which we found a dead one on the floor the first day then I saw a live one running around in the kitchen on the last day) and minus the fire alarm with low batteries - no one believed me that I heard anything until the last day when it happened to go off again with others awake and around - and the fact that poor Jaylee got locked in the bathroom and we almost had to take the doorknob off to get her out - good thing Dave has big muscles and was able to push the door open with all his muscle and body weight! Thanks Dave! :) The girls LOVED the bunk beds they got to sleep in - they even had their own bathroom - so spoiled! :)

Shannon and I took the kids with Jared to do a little fishing - or in our case - watching. Itw as cute to see Shannon with her two girls chilling with a treat.

We tried to eat all of our meals in one house - this is a partial shift of lunch. We had so much fun eating and laughing together. What a party!

Matt was ADORABLE with Cole! I wish I could have posted all the pictures of this afternoon - Matt taught Cole how to roll down a hill. Cole decided to push Matt down the hill instead so they took turns rolling down the hill together. SO cute!

Sorry for the watermark - we're working on getting a copy of the real picture - this is us going down the big Kahuna on our rafting trip - if you look close you can see Case, Jared, Shannon, Dan, Becky, Chloé, me and Chanel. We got SOAKED! It was cold that day too - only 60 and the water temp was in the low 5o's. It was still worth it and lots of fun.

All of us geared up ready to go - well, before we decided to put on jackets... What a fun group! Notice how Case and Chlo have on kids wetsuits - we rented them for you and were glad we did.

They pulled Pa up on stage for part of the entertainment. He did SO good! They did the song "she'll be coming round the mountain" and he was the one who snored - I think the performers were amazed at how well Pa could snore - he stole the show for sure!

On our way up to dinner there were two indians who ride by REALLY fast on horses screaming at the top of their lungs - I think it was to add theatrics and drama - Carlee really liked them and kept asking when she could see the "pioneers" again - I had to remind her that they were indians and not pioneers.

Jaylee was a STINKER at the chuck wagon dinner - Dave and I both left with food CAKED all over our clothes, hair and faces... She enjoyed the meal though :)

Our whole group was able to fit into one wagon - quite an amazing thing. The best part was the driver of our wagon actually served a mission with Chanel's brother in HI - what a small world! Even Chanel learned some new things about her own brother :)

This picture needs to be framed! While we were waiting for the wagons to come get us for dinner Dan decided to chill with Jack - isn't it precious?!?!?

Carlee had a great time messing around. They told us to bring jackets because it would be cold - ended up being super hot... Oh well, better to be safe than sorry :)

This picture is SO precious of Marsha and little Lucy. Lucy has a special place in grandma's heart and it was fun to catch this sweet moment.

YEA!!! We have a family picture in front of the Jackson Hole antlers. There was this really cute group of people who offered to take our picture if we took theirs - we had a good laugh when they asked us to do a silly pose - I figured this one was a better shot for posting though - thanks to them we got this cute picture of us.

Chanel takes Jack to the pool all the time but has never put him in the water - she decided to try the "blow in the face" trick and dunk him - Here is Jack under the water for the first time. He did really well. He's going to be a water baby for sure! :)

Shannon decided to help Chlo a little more with her swimming skills - no kidding - when we left the pool Chlo was able to jump off the side and get back to the stairs all by herself with no floaties- Shan, you're amazing! I honestly think she made the trip for Chlo.

Off the pool they had this cute little fountain area for kids - Cole and Lucy LOVED it. I love this shot because of the kid's faces. We had a great time!

Baby Mason decided he wanted to chill out by the pool in the shade. He is the cutest chunky kid - I have to squeeze his cheeks every time I see him.

Chlo and Case decided they wanted to run through the sprinklers - yes - in their clothes. They had a blast and got laughing so hard.

These stairs will give me nightmares for years to come. We thought we had them blocked really well so Jaylee would leave them alone - yea, not so... the first evening we were there Chanel and I were on the couch talking and we heard a loud "thump, thump, thump" I started screaming and Chanel put Jack on the couch and we both went running just in time to see Jaylee finish rolling down the bottom few steps... I was FREAKED OUT!! She started screaming as well and I was SO releaved Chanel was there to help me assess her to see if there was any damage - she seemed to be fine thank goodness but we decided to take her with us fishing instead of putting her to bed to be sure she didn't have a concussion. That was - on a side note - the same night she got locked in the bathroom. She slept in there and I went to check on her to make sure she was still okay from her "little" fall. When I couldn't get in I panicked - thank you Bryce and Dave for helping with that little episode.

Shannon said she and Jared don't really have any pictures of the two of them - I had to fix that :) This was the first night fishing. Cute couple huh? Shannon is expecting her 4th baby this November and it's a BOY!

Chlo LOVED fishing. She's actually been asking me to take her for a while now. Thanks Uncle Jared for bringing all the stuff to let the kids enjoy this little activity. They did end up catching a few fish. Yea!

Case and Chlo were all but inseperable - they are really cute friends.

This is frame worthy picture for sure. We were trying to find a good spot to fish which meant hiking through some pretty high weeds. The kids didn't seem to mind - what a fun adventure!

Thank you so much Bryce and Marsha for inviting us on such a fun family vacation. It was really nice to be able to spend some time with the Nelson family. We have so many fun memories that we will keep with us for years to come!

Well, Jaylee is officially walking - dancing at times as well. It's amazing to watch how they go from a few steps to walking across a room to dancing and running - Jaylee is still a little unstable but doing great! She can walk all the way down the hall and into my bedroom unasissted. Very impressive in my book :) She really stared walking more in St. George... Don't know what brought it out in her, but I'll take it :) This week she's been a maniac walking as much as she can. The only thing she has left to figure out is how to go from sitting to standing without the help of a hand or wall. :) My baby is offically a toddler... BRING IT ON!!

Jaylee and Grandma having a bonding moment - so precious! I am truly blessed to have the most amazing mother in history - she is definitly one of my heroes and is one of my girls as well. Thanks for being the best mom anyone could ask for!

We ate a lot of our meals out here as well as read stories, did puzzles and played games. Our favorite was the disney pricess Old Maid game. Grandma told the girls that an old maid is someone who is mean and not married, Carlee pointed out that Heather must be an old maid then - huh, funny point. We decided that we had to sing the princess song that went with the card we picked- since Ursula was the "Old Maid" we'd just say, "the only way to get what you want, is to become a human yourself". We had to say it in a low scary voice - the girls LOVED it.

Carlee loved to distract Heather while she was reading to them, she'd poke her, talk right into her face and just be obnoxious. Huh, typical :)

Jaylee LOVED the guitar. She was so thrilled and excited when Heather would play for her. Needless to say we had to hide the guitar so Jaylee wouldn't try to play it :)

Grandma treated us to Baskin Robins after we finised our shopping. Chlo asked if we could go back again - even though all she got was a plain vanilla cone. She's so easy to please :)

Mom and Heather had never been to In and Out - neither had my girls, I figured I'd better treat them to the experience - it payed off - what a delicious place to enjoy lunch!

Grandma got a HUGE clock for the study and the only way we could fit it in was on top of Chlo's seat. She called herself "cave woman Chlo" She truly was a good sport.

This last week the girls and I were able to go to St. George with my fantastic mother and sister. We had a BLAST! My parent's have recently purchased a second home down there so we decided to go check it out. It's AMAZING! So beautiful! It's nice too because it's fully equipt with a full kitchen and laundry room - the pool in the back is quite a bonus too :) We spent most of our time in the pool our outside reading and playing games. As a matter of fact, Carlee said her favorite part was swimming and playing games with grandma. Chlo loved that she got to sleep in a walk in closet. What a nut. She liked having her "own room". We got to go to in and out, which is new down in St. George. Heather told me it had to be one of the best burgers she's ever eaten - I couldn't disagree :) We went to the city center which had a bunch ouf fountains and a little water feature the kids could play in. What fun. What would a trip to St. George be without a little shopping??? We went to Taipan Imports for my mom to see if we could find anything good for the house. She did come home with a few treasures. I was able to finally get some new sunglasses and I splurged on a new Michael Jackson T-shirt. I know, I'm pathetic. It's a cute shirt though. We had a girls night one night where Heather, mom and I ate M&M's until we were sick, I colored Heather's hair and we watched Notebook. What a fun night! Dave came on Friday to join us. He had a tough time finding the place so I had to go find him. Directions aren't one of his talents. :) Dave, Heather and I got to take the two "big girls" to the Tuachan theater to see "Highschool Musical 2". The girls LOVED it. Mom was awesome and got us tickets on the second row right in the middle. The girls freaked out that they saw the characters so close. Carlee even got to meet Sharpay! What a highlight. Mom and Heather left on Saturday morning and Dave and I took the girls back to Tuachan for the flee market they have every Saturday. There wasn't much there but it was fun to get out and walk around together. Dave and the girls posed in the Annie poster and we got a good laugh. I got me a new bag which I LOVE! So it was all worth it. We did a little more shopping on Saturday and then headed home for naps and dinner. Sunday Jaylee woke up not feeling very well. She's been cranky and hasn't eaten well since... Poor thing - I hope she gets over it soon! We took it super easy on Sunday just reading books and playing games. After dinner we decided to go to the St. George temple for a little Sunday outing. It was beautiful! Monday morning Jaylee truly got sick and threw up EVERYWHERE! Poor kid! She ended up sleeping most of the day, which is a good thing for her. Once she got in a few good naps and threw up everything in her tummy she seemed much better - we decided to risk a night out to dinner. We don't go to sit down resteraunts very often so we figured we'd splurge. We ended up at Pizza Factory - LOVE IT. We had a blast! We got laughing so hard! I think it was mostly from Carlee accidently getting coke instead of root beer - then a dr. pepper refil - holy cow! She was out of control! So funny! Not to self though - beware of caffine with Carlee :) Jaylee learned how to blow raspberries and thought it was pretty cool. Tuesday morning Dave woke up not feeling well... Not good seeing as we were planning to drive home. He spent the morning in bed and on the couch while I cleaned up the place. The car was packed and we were ready to go and poor Dave dashed to the bathroom and threw up! Needless to say we ended up eating at the house instead of out. The drive home was long and didn't help that Jaylee cried for at least an hour and a half of it - and there was an accident that kept us at a dead stop for around 45 mintues - the temp guage in the car said it was 121 outside - thank goodness for AC!!! We had to stop at my mom's house to pick up Dave's car. The girls were SO excited to get out of the car and even more excited to show grandma the butterflies they grew. I decided at the begining of the summer to get them a butterfly kit - they grew the butterflies from caterpillars. Chlo suggested we let the butterflies go in grandma's yard because she has SO many flowers. What a great idea! It was a great end to a fun trip. I can't wait to go back and I think we will at least once before the summer is over. Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us enjoy your new toy :)
