Sea World

Monday morning we headed out for Sea World.  The girls were thrilled - it was actually warm enough to only wear hoodies.  I didn't even bring one for Jay or me... (DUMB MOVE...)  Anyway, we decided to check the show schedule first thing so we'd be sure to hit all the shows.  The first on the list was the 4-D muppet movie.  Yea, strange thing to be in Sea World...  Anyway, the two older girls really enjoyed it - Jaylee, on the other hand, FREAKED out as soon as a little drop of water hit her.  Screaming continued until I had to take her out.
The girls LOVED the star fish.  It was cool they could actually touch them.  The rule was you can touch them and pick them up - just don't take them out of the water.  Chlo and Carlee were terrified to touch them at first but were given extra courage when Jay stuck her hand right in and picked one up.  Way to be brave Jaylee!  Dave said he'd give Chlo and extra $5 to buy stuff on the trip if she'd touch one.  That's all it took for her :)

After the 4-D water incident Jaylee was a bit gun shy to say the least.  At every show after that she was afraid she was going to get wet.  It made for lots of tears.  I finally had to give her a bag of M&M's to calm her down at almost every show!  Chocolate works for almost anything :)
We decided to get lunch there just for the experience.  It was not good but we got cool plates and cups to take home from it :)  The sea gulls were EVERYWHERE!  The one you can see above Carlee's head eyed our food the whole time.  I was just glad he didn't attack us and take our food :)
This was the show Dave and I were SURE Jaylee would love.  It's was the pets show.  In this show animal shelter animals do lots of cool tricks.  Jaylee was hooked until... yep, a pig came out and pushed on this lever marked TNT... Jaylee got sprayed right in the face!  We weren't even in the wet zone...  what in the???  Needless to say she doesn't like pigs much anymore nor does she like any sort of bell sounding :)
Chlo and Carlee LOVED the Pet show.  They were laughing almost the entire time.
We went to 2 Shamu shows.  The second was much better than the first.  It wasn't as good as I remembered since the trainers don't get in the water anymore since the one trainer was killed.  Bummer.  It was still cool to watch the killer wales jump and play.

The girls really enjoyed the moving floor to see the sharks.  I have to admit, I love it too, but I have childhood flashbacks to the Jaws movies :)
This nice guy was willing to take a quick family picture of us.  I was super thankful too!  We had a great time in Sea World even though the Dolphin show was closed (the one show Dave and the girls were most excited to see) as was the polar world.  I guess better luck next time :)

A little bit of sunshine

This year our family finally got to take the trip we've been talking about for a few years.  This year my MIL turns 60 - what better reason to celebrate.  For her birthday we all decided to meet as a family in CA for a Disneyland trip seeing as that's my MIL's favorite place.  We decided to take the leap and drive!  Yea, totally nuts. :)  We left on Saturday, Feb 26th and stayed in St. George for the night.  Sunday morning after breakfast we started the long trek to San Diego (we left a few days before the rest of the family so we could do Sea World first).  After getting successfully lost getting to San Diego we made it to our hotel.  We were so excited to get out of the car and stretch our legs.  The girls were so good we only had to stop once for food, gas and potty. :)  Our room was TINY!!!  It had 2 full beds and a full sized couch bed.  That made for a few squishy nights.  The girls had to check out the springiness of the hotel beds too.  It was hillarious.  I thought we caught the moment pretty well :)  We decided to head to the beach on Sunday night to stretch our legs and let the girls collect shells.  They LOVED it!  Jaylee was way freaked out by the water and would point out every time the water got close.  It was an amazing night having some actual sunshine was quite the treat!  The girls did find a few shells to bring home and loved walking in the sand.  After a little walk down the boardwalk we headed to IHOP for some yummy dinner.  When we got to IHOP there were only 2 employees even working!  It took us an HOUR to get our food!  It was way crazy.  I felt sorry for the poor guys who had to work alone.  It was a good dinner (that is until I saw that my meal had 1100 calories! YIKES).  We were all excited and ready for bed!

Spiderella

This year in Chloé's class her teacher had the kids do plays.  There were 4 plays, all of which were silly knock offs of familiar stories.  Chlo was a lady bug step sister in the play Spiderella.  Yes, that was a knock off of Cinderella.  It was SO cute!  Chlo won the prize for speaking the loudest and having the most animation.  I was super proud of her!  She loved it so much - she's actually been asking if she can take acting lessons...  My drama queen on stage... What possiblities :)

Visit with the "greats"

Friday night we had the pleasure of going to Great Grandma and Grandpa Glauser's house for dinner.  It was so fun to spend time with most of my family and my amazing grandparents.  I am so happy my girls get to spend time with them.  The dinner was fantastic too!  Homeade fried chicken, mashed potatoes, white gravy, corn that was fresh off the cob, salad, fresh fruit and lemonade.  Not to mention the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting for dessert!  It was so great to be in their house again.  It brought back so many wonderful memories for me.  They've lived in this same house for over 20 years!
Great grandma took the girls downstairs and let them each pick several children's books to bring home.  The girls were so excited!  They've both read more than one of their new treasures.
Jaylee finally warmed up to them and loved being there as much as the rest of us. :)  Don't I have the CUTEST grandparent's ever?? :)
I have another picture of all of us together but I chose this one because of Jaylee.  I think it's so cute to see her smiling up at my grandpa! SO PRECIOUS! :)
I was able to catch a shot of Justin and Amber with Grandma and Grandpa as well.  I LOVE spending time wtih my amazing family and it's just an extra cherry on the top to be with my grandparent's as well!
Thank you G&G Glauser for letting us come over and spend time with you!
LOVE YOU!

Carlee's first dance class

Carlee started ballet again this week.  She has been super excited because this time she's taking with her best buddy.  They were so cute!
These two are asked if they are twins a lot.  Kids in their kindergarten class ask if they're sisters.  Carlee said that her ballet teacher had to keep scooting them apart. :)
Their teacher, Miss Kerri, is AMAZING!!!  She taught ballet at BYU and is now teaching my daughter!  I'm so lucky!

Amazing friends

My BFF Mindy was just put in as the YW secretary in her ward.  She does such an amazing job and LOVES the girls she gets to work with.  This past week was their ward's New Beginnings.  Mindy was in charge of the decorations for the room.  As usual she went WAY over the top :)  The theme was finding their "happily ever after".  The WHOLE cultural hall was decorated in various "princess themes".  The picture above is of the dwarfs cottage in Snow White.  Even the wishing well is there.
These are the center pieces they used.  There were "Crowns" in all the value colors on the tables.  They were AMAZING.  These were done by a lady in a different ward, Mindy just borrowed them.  I just had to add the picture because they're spectacular!  From what I understand each cone took around 3 hours to make!  Yikes! :)

I had to do a few pictures of the next one.  This is Dorthy's house from wizzard of ozz.  Notice the socks and ruby slippers under the house.  Cute huh?  The munchkin houses are drawn behind and you can see the start of the Yellow Brick road on the floor.  This is where the skit started.
The second stop was Sleeping Beauty's castle.  I think this one is my favorite :)
For the skit "Dorthy" and the new girls coming into Beehives this year followed the yellow brick road.  Her opening line was "I don't think we're in primary anymore Toto."  It was adorable!  They met "munchkins" who told her that to get to the temple she had to follow the yellow brick road and the things she found in the strength of youth pamphlet.  Each girl was given a red ruby bag from Glinda (who was adorable!)  Their next stop was the scarecrow (I didn't catch a picture of that one since I was filming the whole thing :) )  A bishopric member played the scarecrow and the girls helped him find he did have a brain and could make his own choices.  The wicked witch was trying to tempt him to do something he shouldn't :)  At the Sleeping Beauty Castle the 3 good fairies represented the Beehive, Miamaid and Laurel classes.  Next they met the tin man.  They showed him that he did have heart and to find more "love" he could serve others.  Then they got to Snow White and met the 7 values and their cousin... :)  Each dwarf talked about her name and what it meant. (this was my favorite one!  It was so sweet!)  Then they met the lion, played by the bishop.  The wicked witch tried to tempt him to drink but he showed courage to say no and threw the drink on the witch, which in turn melted her :)  Finally they got to Cinderella.  I would have killed to have a still shot of her.  Cinderella was played by Mindy.  Cinderella cried and said she had done all she needed to do to get to the temple but didn't have a dress to wear.  Dorthy and her "friends" called Glinda to help.  They excused Cinderella to change.  Mindy came back into the room with her wedding dress on.  I was super impressed it still fit and she looked BEAUTIFUL!  She was able to dance with her "prince charming" (her hubby) and made it to the temple.  There were hours and hours put into this production and it turned out great!  I was honered to be part of such a great thing :)
