Well, we left quite the mess in that first hotel room. Jaylee loves to flag every room she enters. I brought enough food so we didn't have to go out for most meals. It was super nice until Jaylee decided to spill an entire bowl of captin crunch on the bed and floor. Needless to say it was stepped on and smeared... Jaylee herself stepped in it! Not only that but Monday night Carlee decided to get sick and threw up on the floor as well. I am FOR SURE bringing some sort of sock or shoe to wear at all times in hotel rooms now :) We talked about going to San Diego Zoo for the day but since Carlee had had a tough night we stuck around and relaxed. That was fine too. About noon we headed off to Anaheim. The drive was beautiful! We didn't even get lost (probably because I was navigating this time :) )
This is our second hotel. After some drama at check in where the wrong kind of rooms were reserved we got to where we needed to be. Thank you Shannon and Chanel for the amazing hook up! We got a 2 room suite for $74 a night!!! It actually had a kitchen, main family room plus two additional bedrooms off the main living area! Chlo got the hidabed in the couch, Carlee and Jaylee shared the first bedroom and Dave and I got the other bedroom. It was quite the setup! It felt like a palace after the last hotel we'd been in. :) Of coarse Chlo and her cousin Case had to check out the beds... Love it!
Check out the height he got in this jump! Go Case!
After we chilled for a bit and ate some dinner we headed to the airport to surprise grandma Marsh. See, this whole trip was planned to celebrate her 60th birthday this year. She had NO idea this was happening. She was fed a story that she was going to LA for a business trip. She had a book, sunglasses and a swim suit packed.
Uncle Matt was great and got all the kids Mickey ears to wear and the girls and I made the sign. We were ready (minus the fact that we were really cold) .
Sorry this picture is dark - This is Marsha's first look when she saw us... Classic!
Do you think she was surprised???
She honestly had NO idea what was going on. It took her quite a while to adjust to the fact that she was actually on a family vacation that she didn't have to plan!
Here she's asking Becky what was going on. She had talked to all of us within the past few days. Yea, we'd all had to fib a bit but it was worth it to get her reaction :)
I had to add this picture because my nephew Mason is SO CUTE!!! He was the keeper of grandma's sign. Thanks Mason! :)
The airport was great fun and we were all SHOCKED we were able to pull a fast one on Grandma. I don't know if we'll be able to do it again :)
